Report: Birds Cutting Campbell
Team Releasing Vet WR
The Eagles’ trend of adding and subtracting at the wide receiver position continued ahead of Week 8, as the team on Tuesday reportedly released veteran wide receiver Parris Campbell.

Campbell, who had been signed off the practice squad the day before a Week 6 game against the Browns, had just six catches for 30 yards in his three games with the team.
If he signs back with the practice squad, Campbell will have two elevations remaining. The Eagles used his first elevation against the Saints in Week 3.
Campbell played just 13 snaps in Sunday’s 28-3 win over the Giants at MetLife Stadium, seeing just one target but being held without a catch.
The move opens a spot on the 53-man roster that will likely be occupied by rookie wide receiver Ainias Smith, who is in the third and final week of the 21-day practice window on Injured Reserve.
If Smith, a fifth-round pick from Texas A&M, isn’t moved to the active roster for Sunday’s game against the Bengals, he will have to go on season-ending Injured Reserve.
The Eagles also have tight end Albert Okwuegbunam in the 21-day practice window and also waiting for an opportunity to be activated.
