ITB: What Training Camp Revealed About New Unit
The revamped Philadelphia Eagles offense is looking to answer a lot of questions with training camp coming to a close.
On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Geoff Mosher and Adam Caplan dove into the state of the offense as camp concludes.

Makai Lemon
Geoff Mosher: “With Makai Lemon coming back, it almost felt to me that they were trying to cramp three weeks of him being out into a session. There was probably more pre-snap motion than I have seen in most other practices. They’re clearly trying to get him up to speed, he’s going to be that guy in this offense that you really need that moveable piece.”
Adam Caplan: “This is not a static offense…they are doing a ton with him now that he’s healthy.”
Jalen Hurts
Mosher: “I don’t think it’s a good thing to have interceptions…you have to look at every interception individually and say was this the result of at least trying to drive the ball and do something positive?”
Caplan: “What I want is for him to drive the football. If I’m the coaches, don’t worry about it. They were so conservative with the gameplan with Hurts.”
Dontayvion Wicks
Caplan: “Wicks has been the most consistent pass catcher in training camp. We’ll see what happens when the regular season starts, but he has been really good.”
Mosher: “You’ll most likely see Lemon in 11 [personnel]. You could see him in 12, but I feel like Wicks has done enough to prove that he deserves to be out there.”
Eli Stowers
Caplan: “Stowers is just not there physically. It’s going to take a while. We know he’s new, this is his fourth year as a tight end. He’s a project who’s very athletic and there’s a lot of upside, but it’s going to take time as it took Zach Ertz time.”
Mosher: “I just don’t love what they have in the backup tank right now, especially if their second round pick isn’t going to play early on.”
