Lane’s Game

Johnson Set to Play; Blankenship and Roby Ruled Out

The Philadelphia Eagles are set for Sunday night against a historically strong Miami Dolphins offense without two key members of the secondary.

Reed Blankenship (ribs) and Bradley Roby (shoulder) are both listed as out after missing the entire week of practice.

Lane Johnson is set to play against the Miami Dolphins despite an ankle sprain

To fill in for their absences, the Eagles will likely be counting on rookie Sydney Brown, who is set to return after missing the last three games and has yet to play more than 12 defensive snaps in a game, as well as Josiah Scott, who was just signed to the team’s active roster after being released in August.

Darius Slay (knee) will play after practicing fully the last two days, as will Eli Ricks (knee) who left the Week 6 loss.

Jalen Carter (ankle), DeVonta Smith (hamstring), and Dallas Goedert (groin) were limited in practice, but none are given an injury designation for Sunday, indicating they are ready to play.

The same goes for All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson (ankle), who has yet again defied injury logic to return sooner then expected after practicing fully on Friday.

Other than those on injured reserve, the Miami Dolphins will have a relatively clean bill of health entering Sunday. The biggest concern was for All-Pro cornerback Xavien Howard, who was limited on Friday and is listed as questionable, but from the man himself, he is ready to play.
