Week 5 Injury Report
Injury Updates As Birds Get Prepare For Rams In London
PHILADELPHIA – The injury riddled Philadelphia Eagles (2-2) travel to London this weekend to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars (3-1). Kickoff for Sunday is slated for 9:30 a.m. ET.
The Eagles, ravaged by injuries, are down two key members of the offensive skill positions players (Saquon Barkley, DeVonta Smith) but could return a third in tight end Dallas Goedert, who missed the previous two games after leaving the team’s Week 2 matchup in Tennessee early with a knee injury.
On the defensive side, the names to monitor are OLB Jonathan Greenard (ankle), LB Zack Baun (concussion) and LB Jihaad Campbell (knee).
Wednesday, Oct. 8

On Wednesday, the Eagles were without Barkley, Smith, Greenard, Campbell, Drew Kendall, Marcus Epps and Hollywood Brown.
Limited for the Eagles were Baun, Goedert, Fred Johnson and Quinyon Mitchell.
Encouraging to see Goedert and Baun back on the field, while Johnson returns to practice following a two-week absence. Given the state of the offensive line, his presence as the team’s swing tackle becomes critical.
Mitchell left the Eagles 24-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the second half and did not return. On Wednesday, Mitchell was spotted in the stretch line with a helmet beside him, a welcome sight for his Eagles teammates – and coordinator Vic Fangio.

On Thursday, the Eagles were again without center Drew Kendall, which is troubling, as the Eagles are already light along the offensive line. In the configuration at practice open to reporters, second-year center Jake Majors lined up with the first group at center, while second-year pro Willie Lampkin was lined up and left guard. Whether or not that ends up holding true remains to be seen, but that is the situation that the Eagles find themselves in. Already light along the offensive line, the Eagles will likely have to have to make Majors and John Ojukwu available to play.
A new injury surfaced on Thursday wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks popped up on Thursday’s injury report with a hamstring injury. Since Wicks wasn’t listed on Wednesday’s report, one can surmise that the injury occurred during Thursday’s practice. While there’s still another day of practice remaining this week, if Wicks can’t go on Sunday, that would leave the Eagles with just Makai Lemon, Elijah Moore, Darius Cooper and Britain Covey as the available wide receivers. This injury will certainly be one worth monitoring.
As for tight end, Dallas Goedert, the veteran tight end was listed as limited for the second consecutive practice after missing the previous two games with the knee injury. This would seemingly bode well for Goedert’s availability for Sunday’s game in London, and Friday could go a long way into presenting a clearer picture.
