by

PHILADELPHIA — The Eagles (2-4) will look to add another to win column following a rare four-game skid.

On Monday night, they’ll host the Dallas Cowboys in an NFC East showdown.

The offense will once again be helmed by reserve quarterback Tanner McKee, though the unit is expected to have some reinforcements returning to the lineup. The first practice of the week saw the awaited return of running back Saquon Barkley, who not only serves as the engine to fueling the running game, but also as one of the team’s most prominent leaders.

The Eagles could also receive a boost on the offensive line, assuming the positive developments continue throughout the week.

Below you’ll find our injury tracker, which will be updated throughout the week.

The Eagles’ first practice of the week welcomed the return of RB Saquon Barkley (hamstring), who missed the team’s previous two games. Also present and participating were OLB Jonathan Greenard (ankle), OLB Jalyx Hunt (knee/ankle), DT Jordan Davis (shin/thumb), C Drew Kendall (knee) and OLB A.J. Epenesa (back). Davis notably practiced in full after requiring assistance leaving the field on Sunday and exiting the game early.

Barkley spoke Thursday on the prospects of playing Monday night:

“I would love to play Monday night,” he said. “I would be doing myself a disservice to sit here and say that Monday night I’m guaranteeing myself to play. I do know that I have all the trust in the, the trainers and all the trust in Tom and Rome. To be honest, I was trying to go last week. It sounded great in my head, then you sit and you’re like, ‘Maybe they were right.’

“But I’m happy to have the opportunity to go out there and test it and, God willing, just continue to trend in the right direction throughout the week and to be able to go and play Monday night. I would love to be out there. I feel like I know the type of player and the type of leader I am, and I’m always gonna have a positive mindset.

“And sometimes it takes one person, it takes one play, it takes one drive, takes one game to get this thing where we’re going. When I say one person, I mean in an individual performance or going out there. It’s just being on the sidelines and being in the huddle and just trying to provide that energy, and the energy can come from leadership, the energy can come from making a play.

“Sometimes that’s all it takes. So, hopefully I’m able. I just know that I’m doing everything I can to try to play.”

The four Eagles who last week had their practice windows opened — G Landon Dickerson (knee/pectoral), TEs Eli Stowers (quad) and Grant Calcaterra (back) and CB Jakorian Bennett (knee) — also participated. Stowers, Calcaterra and Bennett all practiced in full.

The pectoral injury is a new one for Dickerson, who last week was listed with only a knee.

Among the players who didn’t practice on Thursday included three key receivers in WRs DeVonta Smith (hamstring) and Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) and TE Dallas Goedert (knee). DB Michael Carter II (pectoral) was working on a side field.
