Illness Impacting CBs

Eagles-Patriots Injury Report: Jobe Full Participant, Goodrich Limited (Illness)

by

The Philadelphia Eagles are just a couple of days away from entering Week 1 against the New England Patriots with clean bill of health, if a sick bug doesn’t spread any further than backup cornerbacks.

Thursday’s team injury report listed CB Josh Jobe, who was limited with an illness Wednesday, as a full participant, while CB Mario Goodrich was limited, also with an illness.

Jobe is currently the top option as the backup outside cornerback and is needed for significant snaps on special teams, a unit in which the Eagles are already shorthanded following season-ending preseason injuries to Zech McPhearson and Shaun Bradley.

While Goodrich might not see the field on the active roster, he showed value to the team by playing much of his training camp reps in the slot.

All others were full go, most notably star EDGE Haason Reddick, who is geared up to play despite having his hand wrapped due to a recent surgery.

The Patriots are facing more injury challenges. The team will be without previously projected starting right tackle Riley Reiff, who is currently on the team’s injured reserve list, leaving them vulnerable with an inexperienced offensive line against the best pass rush unit in the NFL.
