ITB: Why Didn't the Eagles Make a Trade at the Deadline?

by

The Philadelphia Eagles roster is standing pat ahead of their Week 10 showdown against their rival Dallas Cowboys.

On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher provided intel into the recently-passed trade deadline and discussed injuries for the Eagles and Cowboys.

Trade Deadline

Adam Caplan: “The Eagles looked at a couple of things. There have been years where they didn’t do anything and it’s not for a lack of trying or looking into it. You don’t want to give needless picks away for guys who you don’t think are upgrades. You don’t just make a trade to make a trade.”

Geoff Mosher: “In retrospect, seeing how Howie (Roseman) has struggled to really hit on trades at the deadline going back to his last real good one was Jay Ajayi in 2017, sometimes the best moves are the ones you don’t make.”

AJ Brown

Mosher: “He left the game with the knee injury. It doesn’t look like it’s going to be a severe injury, but that doesn’t mean he is definitely playing. We have to see if he is able to get out on the practice field and do something.”

Caplan: “He wanted to go back into the game, but he felt something, so we don’t know what it is. He’s really questionable at this point, they have to get through practice this week.”

Dallas Goedert

Mosher: “You have to expect him to at least try to get on the practice field this week. If he wasn’t able to play, it would be a shock to the Eagles because they would have put him on IR if they thought he was going to be out for four weeks.”

Caplan: “I expect him to practice. If they clear him to practice, they know he should have a chance to play because what happens is if you have a hamstring injury, it has to be fluid out and they are constantly checking on this stuff.”

Cooper Rush

Caplan: “He faced the Eagles once as a starter and it was not good, just over two years ago. 18-of-38, 181 [yards]. I remember this game, he had a touchdown and three picks.’

CeeDee Lamb

Caplan: “With a sprained shoulder, it’s about flexibility, the ability to get your arm up, so they are not going to know until late this week.”
