Ahead of the Pack?
ITB: Recent Developments Ahead of Wild Card
In a rematch of Week 1, the Philadelphia Eagles are set to host the Green Bay Packers in the opening round of the NFL Playoffs.
On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Geoff Mosher and Adam Caplan provided injury updates for both teams and previewed matchups to watch for the Wild Card round.
Jalen Hurts
Geoff Mosher: “There have been players on the Eagles who have gotten concussions, have gotten hit, and they have been okay. To our knowledge, Jalen Hurts doesn’t have some long history of having concussions. I know the chances of having another one do increase a little bit, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to have a concussion next time he gets hit.”
A.J. Brown
Adam Caplan: “It’s his left knee, the same injury that he had where he tweaked it and was fine…This week, he was limited Wednesday, they backed off Thursday, this was planned. The Titans one year, he didn’t practice on any Wednesdays. As we reported at the time, it was both knees that they were concerned about…but the bottom line is the guy is a baller, he’s tough as nails and he has shown the ability to play through injury.”
Mosher: “I have no concern going into this Packers game that when he takes the field that he’s not going to be the A.J. Brown that he’s expected to be. My concern would be that he has been dealing with this whole career, a little bit more this year. The objective of the Eagles is to play four more games, these are playoff games, they are going to be very physical, cold weather games. When the game takes it up a notch, the speed of the game is faster and the hits are harder.”
Jordan Love
Mosher: “On Thursday, he practiced full, so we know he’s going to play, but we knew he hurt his elbow in the game against Chicago…after the game, he said he lost feeling in his hand. Interestingly, on Wednesday he was limited because his elbow still sore. You do wonder does he come into this game a little bit sore in the elbow?”
Packers Secondary
Caplan: “I’m coming off the bus throwing at this secondary. Go after these corners. Keisan Nixon has been a phenomenal story, but they are not very good at corner.”
