Concerns Waning?

Smith Avoids Major Injury; Slay Limited

by

The initial injury report for the Philadelphia Eagles ahead of their final 2023 regular season matchup lists six starters.

Defensive tackle Jordan Davis (ankle), edge rusher Haason Reddick (illness), and wide receiver DeVonta Smith (ankle) were listed as not participating in Wednesday’s report, estimated due to a walkthrough.

Wide receiver DeVonta Smith’s ankle injury is not considered serious

While the team’s biggest concern is DeVonta Smith, who was seen on crutches and a boot after exiting late in the 35-31 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, the 25-year-old wide receiver avoided major injury and should be back sooner rather than later.

Hope may be coming for the struggling defense in the form of All-Pro cornerback Darius Slay (knee), who was listed as limited for the first time since undergoing surgery prior to Week 15, as was linebacker Zach Cunningham (knee) who has missed four of the last five games.

Cornerback Avonte Maddox, who was seen exiting the X-Ray room following his first game with the Eagles since Week 2, was also listed as limited with an elbow injury.
