Eagles Add Former Temple Center
Depth is on the way for the Philadelphia Eagles’ interior offensive line.
The team is reportedly signing center Matt Hennessy to a one-year deal.
The Eagles are signing OL Matt Hennessy, a league source tells @Bo_Wulf and me. They agreed to terms on a one-year deal.
Hennessy, 26, started 22 games for the Falcons since entering the league as a third-round pick in 2020 out of Temple. Adds depth on the interior.

Hennessy has spent his entire career in the NFL as a member of the Atlanta Falcons but is very familiar with the Philadelphia area from his four years at Temple.
A third-round pick in 2020, the 26-year-old Hennessy has spent time at both center and guard. 17 of his 22 career starts came in 2021 and he has not seen the field since the 2022 season, missing all of 2023 due to injury.
But now he joins an Eagles offensive line room looking for depth following the retirement of future Hall-of-Famer Jason Kelce. Two starting positions will change on the o-line with Cam Jurgens expected to move over to his more natural position at center and second-year Tyler Steen currently the front runner to take over the right guard spot.
Jack Driscoll and Sua Opeta, who have been mainstays on the Eagles’ o-line for the past four seasons, are currently both on the free agent market.
