Several interesting contract decisions await the Philadelphia Eagles once the 2026 season concludes.

On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher explored the contract situations of the team’s quarterbacks and running backs.

Jalen Hurts

Adam Caplan: “He is signed through 2028. All of the money this season is fully guaranteed, all of the cash, $51.5 million. After this season, he has $23 million fully guaranteed in ’27 of the $51.5 million and then there’s no guaranteed money in ’28. If I’m Jalen Hurts and Nicole Lynn, his agent, if he kicks ass this season in this scheme, seeing where the quarterback money’s going, I’m going to want a new deal.”

Geoff Mosher: “If Jalen Hurts has a really good season, takes to the new offense really well, not only will he want a new contract, I would think the Eagles would jump at the opportunity to give him because by next offseason, there are going to be a lot of quarterbacks resetting the market. Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, Bo Nix, and Jayden Daniels will be up.”

Tanner McKee

Mosher: “You kind of wonder what contract he might be in line for in the offseason, depending on what happens with him this season if he’s still with the Eagles. There’s a chance he may not get into any games”

Caplan: “You would have to go on last year’s tape against Washington, which was not very good, his preseason tape which was really good. He’s very well liked around the league, but you have to weigh that versus the early word on the ’27 quarterback draft class, which is good.”

Mosher: “After his great 2024 season when he broke the regular season and postseason record for rushing, the Eagles did something they didn’t have to do, but a good business would do, and that was guaranteeing more money over later years of his deal.”

Caplan: “After this season in ’27, of the $16 million in cash, they only guaranteed $2.5 million. What this tells me is if he does not play well this season, it’s hard to justify bringing him back. It’s something we have to watch this season.”

Tank Bigsby

Caplan: “This is the final year of his rookie deal. He’s going to make just over $1.4 million, which is not guaranteed.”

Mosher: “It’s hard to see him with the Eagles past this year as long as he does his job because he should get some attention on the free agent market and the Eagles aren’t going to want to pay for a backup.”
