Win’s a Win?

ITB Postgame: Takeaways from Week 1

by

The Philadelphia Eagles did just enough on both sides of the ball to squeak out a season opening victory over their division rival.

On the 2026 Week 1 edition of the “ITB Postgame Show,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher addressed the ups and downs from the 24-22 win against the Washington Commanders.

Jalen Hurts

Adam Caplan: “He didn’t turn it over and he had three touchdown passes, two of them were terrific.”

Geoff Mosher: “The ball to DeVonta Smith was beautiful.”

Landon Dickerson

Mosher: “I worry about the offensive line, Landon Dickerson in particular…he looked to me like he was either immobile or could not put his hands up in time.”

Caplan: “He fell down, he just didn’t look right. The run blocking was poor, I was very surprised.”

Zack Baun

Mosher: “Zack Baun played like a man possessed. He was unbelievable. I don’t know if they win without him because he made about seven important stops, whether third downs or pass breakups. Altogether, he was incredible.”

Cooper DeJean

Mosher: “I spoke to Cooper DeJean after the game and he was hard on himself. He felt like he did not play a good game and he didn’t. He had two bad illegal contact penalties, gave up the touchdown to (Antonio) Williams…they were kind of targeting him. But it didn’t help that he didn’t have a consistent pass rush.”
