Ramping Up

ITB: Early Look at Week 1 Injury Reports

The Philadelphia Eagles are set to enter the 2026 regular season with a relatively clean bill of health.

On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Geoff Mosher and Adam Caplan discussed the Eagles and Commanders’ initial injury reports.

Geoff Mosher: “[Being limited in practice] shouldn’t surprise anybody. When you miss that much time, you have to ramp up.”

Adam Caplan: “His last practice with the Vikings was December 19th. It’s presumed last week when the media wasn’t there that he started working. He needs a ramp up period, as much as Vic Fangio hates the ramp up period. Whenever he plays, you expect him not play 60 snaps, they have to ease him in a little bit.”

Eli Stowers

Mosher: “He’s behind, wasn’t even running with the first team, barely on the second team [in training camp]. The idea that he could be inactive this game, even if healthy, was there. Right now, dealing with the hamstring injury and being limited, you’re just getting closer to the reality that he’s probably not going to be able to play or be active.”

Caplan: “I would be surprised if he’s active because I don’t see a role for him. (E.J.) Jenkins is a much better blocker, (Dallas) Goedert is a two-way tight end and we know Johnny Mundt is only here to block.”

Nick Allegretti

Caplan: “The big one: Nick Allegretti, who is moving from guard to center this season, missed all of training camp and preseason with a calf strain. Dan Quinn is very confident that he’ll be ready for the regular season. He took all of the reps Wednesday. Barring a setback, he’ll be in the lineup but he’s not a great athlete. Good luck against this line when you come back from a calf injury.”

K’Lavon Chaisson/Odafe Oweh

Mosher: “Chaisson and Odafe Oweh were limited on Wednesday. It was a calf for Oweh and a knee for Chaisson.”

Caplan: “The key for both of these guys, because they’re both starters, Friday is a big thing.”
