ITB: Eagles Contracts Steady on Offense

by

Fresh off their Super Bowl LIX victory, the Philadelphia Eagles’ offense looks locked into the long term.

On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher dove into the contract situations of the quarterbacks and offensive line.

Jalen Hurts

Adam Caplan: “The Eagles were smart, they went to him early. They did a structure where they got a major break on average per-year. Hurts and his agent Nicole Lynn got good structure where money gets guaranteed in advance. If he’s on the roster this March, next year’s base salary gets guaranteed…He’s signed through 2028, part of his 2026 salary becomes fully guaranteed in March.”

Lane Johnson

Caplan: “I can tell you as a fact that he’s coming back. It’s kind of like with (Jason) Kelce, the way they did it is if he wants to keep playing, he has to get his deal re-done. If he wants to play when he’s 37-years-old in 2027, they’re going to have to re-do his deal.”

Geoff Mosher: “Lane Johnson has no guaranteed money left on his contract. Normally, a guy of his stature doesn’t allow himself to get this far, but he has always had a good relationship for the most part. They’ll get this thing worked out.”

Cam Jurgens

Mosher: “He has played three years of his four-year deal. I would imagine, just based on the history of the organization, the value they put into the offensive line, and the fact that Cam has proven himself to be a pretty good player, that he would be priority number one for a long-term extension this year.”
