OTA Observations; NFC East Draft Part 1
During the OTAs, the Philadelphia Eagles have offered some early clues into what the team could look like in the 2024 season.
On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher discussed takeaways from the team’s open OTA practice session. Also on the agenda was selecting an offense for their NFC East draft.

Kellen Moore
Geoff Mosher: “We know Nick Sirianni’s offense was one of the lowest usage of motion and shifting in the NFL. We knew Kellen Moore had a history of using a lot of motion and shifting, and lo and behold, in the one OTA that media was allowed to observe, there was a good amount of motion and shifting in the offense.”
Adam Caplan: “He moves guys around to get matchups. You are going to see A.J. Brown line up in the slot, that is for matchup purposes.”
Kenny Pickett
Mosher: “He is stepping in under a lot of scrutiny. All indications are he looks fairly comfortable throwing the ball.”
Jordan Davis
Mosher: “The big story on him is he looks like he has lost a lot of weight, his physique looks really different. I feel like in OTAs everybody is in the best shape of their life. There is a difference between losing weight, getting in shape and being NFL conditioned to play. But it is a positive development that Jordan Davis has slimmed down.”
Caplan: “We were told this time last year he was in the best shape of his life. He looked good and got off to a great start and then by Week 6 you started to see it dissipate. He never played this many snaps in college. It is one thing to be in good physical shape, but when you have never been pressed to play a ton of snaps, you have to build up a tolerance for it.”
Isaiah Rodgers
Mosher: “People were making a big deal about Rodgers being the starting corner on the outside, but James Bradberry and Kelee Ringo were not there, and Ricks wound up getting hurt. Plus, the guy has not played in a year, so they have to get him out there.”
Cooper DeJean
Mosher: “He got his chance to play in the nickel as an inside corner and also as an outside corner.”
Caplan: “At some point, we expect him to get work at safety. [Vic Fangio] has played a big nickel before, he did it years ago with Denver.”

Geoff must have been on the sauce when he filled out his wide receiver starters for his NFC East squad. Jahan Dotson over AJ or DeVonta????
