ITB: Evaluating Latest Eagles Additions and Current Needs

by

The defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles continue to add pieces to their 2025 puzzle, but more help could be on the way.

On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher discussed the team’s recent signings and immediate needs to look out for.

Matt Pryor

Adam Caplan: “I did not talk to a team that saw Matt Pryor as a guard but Stout [Jeff Stoutland] sees things that others don’t see…Pryor is a guard/right tackle.”

Geoff Mosher: “I don’t see Matt Pryor as someone who is definitely making the team just because he’s coming back. If you want to talk about guys who are guards and offensive tackles, don’t forget about Darian Kinnard.”

Kendall Lamm

Caplan: “Kendall Lamm will be that swing tackle. He’s a left tackle/right tackle…the problem with these journeymen types is that the longer they play, the more the warts show up. But he’s a guy if you need him for three or four games he’ll get you out of a tough spot.”

Mosher: “I remember watching some Miami Dolphins tape two years ago before the Eagles played them. Lamm was in there and I kept looking for the number. This guy will get beat a little bit but then he’ll block you. He’ll hold his own. If you have a good offensive line and he needs to come in there and play, he’s not going to wreck your whole operation.”

Wide Receivers

Caplan: “For this season only, it would behoove them if they got one more veteran at receiver. Johnny Wilson is just there to block…Ainias Smith is only a slot receiver and they could use one more outside guy.”

Tight End

Caplan: “If they wind up trading (Dallas) Goedert before the draft, which would be ideal, they must draft a tight end early. It doesn’t have to be in the first round, but they have to take a guy that they know could play right away.”
