Bye, Bradberry
Eagles Release Former All-Pro CB After 2024 Injured Reserve Stint
Less than 24 hours after releasing All-Pro cornerback Darius Slay, the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles made a more expected move, cutting ties with James Bradberry.
First reported by ESPN, the release will also go down as a post-June 1 designation to save over $2 million in cap space.
The #Eagles have informed cornerback James Bradberry he will be released when the new league year starts, per league sources. His agent can speak to other teams in advance.

Bradberry, just two years removed from an All-Pro season in his first year with the Eagles in 2022, spent ‘24 on injured reserve, mentoring from the sidelines as Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean stepped up with stellar rookie seasons in his absence.
At 31-years-old and struggling in his last season on the field in 2023, the team had been unable to find a trade partner in the past year after he signed a three-year, $38 million extension.
With Slay and Bradberry both gone, the youth movement now continues for the Philadelphia Eagles defense that was already one of the youngest in the league. The current oldest player under a non-futures deal on Vic Fangio’s unit is C.J. Gardner-Johnson at the age of 27.
