ITB: Eagles Health Status Ahead of NFC Title Game
The Philadelphia Eagles are looking to get fully healthy ahead of the NFC Championship matchup against the Washington Commanders, but are facing pop-up injuries.
On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Geoff Mosher and Adam Caplan provided recent intel on the team’s injuries.

Britain Covey
Geoff Mosher: “I have been curious about would they actually play him in the NFC Championship after this long layoff. But at the same time, there are some benefits if in practice they think he can handle it and you don’t have to put (Cooper) DeJean back there, that helps you.”
Adam Caplan: “If they activate him this week to play, they would have to release somebody. He is listed as limited, so it’s hard to see him be active for this game…He has to be medically cleared for contact.”
Mosher: “I wouldn’t rule out the Super Bowl when you have the extra time, extra preparation. That might be more realistic for Covey.”
Jalen Hurts
Caplan: “He took all of the starters reps on Thursday. That doesn’t mean he’s going to be able to run like he did last week. But I’m very encouraged that he took all of the reps.”
Cam Jurgens
Mosher: “When I saw it was a back [injury], I winced a little bit. If it was an ankle, arm, or chest, you’d figure he’d be alright, but you hate to see the back.”
Caplan: “The way coaches think in the playoffs, when a guy doesn’t practice during the week during the playoffs, they don’t care. As long as Jurgens is not listed as doubtful or out, he still has a shot.”
Quinyon Mitchell
Caplan: “We were never concerned about him playing, he said he was playing. I was only going to be concerned if he didn’t take any reps on Thursday, but he took all of the starters reps.”
