ITB: Latest on Eagles, Packers Injuries

by

There is no time to rest for the Philadelphia Eagles following a successful 14-3 regular season.

On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher offered midweek updates for the Eagles and Green Bay Packers ahead of their Wild Card matchup.

NFC Playoff Field

Adam Caplan: “This is one of the strongest NFC groups I have seen. Yes, there is a drop off between the Lions and Eagles and rest of the teams, but the Vikings are the fifth seed. Washington is very capable of winning against the Buccs.”

Jalen Hurts

Geoff Mosher: “When the Eagles practice on Wednesday, there is the full expectation that Jalen Hurts will be on the field practicing and everything is back to normal. In case anybody wants to read into it, the Eagles did waive Ian Book on Tuesday so they go into the playoffs with Jalen as the starter, Kenny Pickett’s the backup, Tanner McKee is the emergency third-stringer.”

Caplan: “If he’s working at practice, he’s at least at stage four in the five-stage protocol.”

Britain Covey

Mosher: “He has to miss the next two playoff games: this one coming up against the Packers and then the divisional round game. He would be eligible for the NFC Championship game if they feel they want him on the 53.”

Caplan: “He’s not cleared medically, as I understand it. It’s a medical issue with his neck…If he’s healthy, he should be their punt returner.”

Christian Watson

Mosher: “Carted off the field, he is out the rest of the playoffs with a right ACL tear. That’s a big loss for them. He is definitely their speediest receiver, I wouldn’t call him their most talented, but he probably has the most game-changing ability.”

Caplan: “Christian Watson is probably one of the top five-to-seven best shot play receivers. He doesn’t get a lot of targets, but when he does, more often than not it’s deep. That’s going to impact them.”

Packers Offensive Line

Caplan: “I’m interested to see if the Eagles can beat this line. They have done a great job of protecting (Jordan) Love…14 times sacked this year…They have overachieved, I give them credit.”
