ITB Postgame Live: Bad Habits Doom Eagles in Last-Minute Loss
Major issues resurfaced for the Philadelphia Eagles in a last-minute collapse against the Atlanta Falcons.
On the latest edition of “Inside The Birds Postgame Live,” Geoff Mosher and Adam Caplan reacted to the 22-21 defeat on Monday Night Football.
Jalen Hurts
Geoff Mosher: “Jalen Hurts took way too many hits tonight. He was an extra running back. The passing game was okay, wasn’t great, nothing downfield, they obviously missed A.J. Brown.”
Adam Caplan: “Hurts has to get rid of the football…this can’t go on, you have to scheme guys open.”
Saquon Barkley
Mosher: “If that ball is caught by Saquon Barkley, everyone would be saying it caught the Falcons off guard, put the foot on the jugular there and you got them with an aggressive playcall, people like that. That is on Saquon Barkley not catching that ball, it was well placed.”
Caplan: “Barkley has to catch that football. He had a bunch of beautiful runs.”
Run Defense
Mosher: “Coaches don’t really get upset about giving up a lot of big plays in the run game as long as they stop between the 20s and the red zone…but some of that was unacceptable. Right now, they can’t stop a single decent run and that has to be cleaned up.”
Caplan: “Jordan Davis has got to be a factor…maybe Thomas Booker starts playing over him.”
Pass Rush
Caplan: “If you can’t pressure on a quarterback, you have problems. They have nobody who can get to the passer. (Bryce) Huff, (Josh) Sweat can’t get to the passer.”
