ITB: Initial OTA Observations

The OTAs are in session for the Philadelphia Eagles as they get an early look at their 2025 roster.

On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Geoff Mosher and Adam Caplan gave intel on the first official OTA practice day.

Tanner McKee/Dorian Thompson-Robinson

Geoff Mosher: “The one thing that really stands out to me is that it comes out of [Tanner McKee]’s hand pretty effortlessly…with Robinson, it looks like he’s throwing a heavier ball than (Jalen) Hurts and McKee.”

Adam Caplan: “Or it takes a little bit more mechanically to get the ball out.”

Will Shipley

Mosher: “He looked bigger to me. He caught a lot of passes. He ran a short out route against Zack Baun and beat him to the outside, caught the pass in stride. It was a nice move.”

Cooper DeJean

Mosher: “He played outside corner a couple of times when the Eagles were in base defense…it was probably just two or three times, but he did say he’s going to practice there in that look throughout camp.”

Caplan: “Before he got hurt, he was doing some stuff in OTAs. This is why you now cross train. OTAs are for experimentation. You never want to wait until training camp. If (Adoree) Jackson or (Kelee) Ringo aren’t cutting it, they don’t need to look on the outside for another veteran corner. When they drafted DeJean, their whole goal was to have him be an outside corner.”

Safety

Mosher: “There was not one single safety who didn’t take a first team rep. Drew Mukuba, Sydney Brown, Tristin McCollum Lewis Cine, and Andre’ Sam. Brown and Mukuba probably got the most, but they were mix and matching.”
