Birds Hire QBs Coach
Eagles Tab BGSU's Loeffler
The Super Bowl champion Eagles have added a quarterbacks coach.
The team reportedly hired Scot Loeffler, 50, who spent the past six seasons as head coach of Bowling Green University.
Bowling Green announced the move Friday morning.
For the Eagles, Loeffler will be tasked with presiding over Jalen Hurts, building upon his 2024 progression, and the quarterback room that currently includes Kenny Pickett and Tanner McKee.
Loeffler, a quarterback at Michigan from 1993-1996, has coached Tom Brady, Chad Henne, Tim Tebow, Logan Thomas, Daunte Culpepper and Dan Orlovsky throughout his career.
He last coached in the NFL in 2008, overseeing a Lions quarterback room that included Culpepper and Orlovsky.
Versed in a multitude of systems, Loeffler could provide fresh concepts and ideas, as he’s served as offensive coordinator for Temple, Auburn, Virginia Tech and Boston College.
Loeffler’s head coaching record at Bowling Green was 27-41 but he led the Falcons to bowl appearances in his final three seasons, though he went 0-3.
“In these last six seasons, Scot built a very successful program in a challenging climate in collegiate sports,” said Vice President of Athletics Strategy Derek van der Merwe. “More importantly, he built this program while ensuring his team and coaches were truly committed to the values and mission that make this university great.
“Like other great coaches in the history of BGSU football, he has demonstrated that when you build around the strengths of this University and its mission, anything is possible.
“I am looking forward to this process of finding the next great leader for our program who embraces what it means to be a Falcon.”
