The Philadelphia Eagles are bringing in some reinforcements amidst major questions at certain positions.

On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher discussed the potential impact of the team’s recent signings.

Zach Ertz

Adam Caplan: “Zach is 35 years old coming off his second ACL reconstruction in three years. Everything I have heard, it sounds like he is going to be available relatively soon, not ruling out Monday night…He’s a supreme catcher, he’s not going to get past seven or eight yards, but he knows how to get open.”

Geoff Mosher: “They need Zach because they need a body at that position who can play. He’ll help the offense in that regard, especially without Dallas Goedert, because they don’t have any pass catching tight ends…I’d almost be surprised if he does play at all Monday no matter what shape he’s in because that’s almost dangerous, but we’ll see. In the short term, it doesn’t make their run game or first down offense any better.”

Johnny Mundt

Mosher: “Johnny Mundt’s not doing a great job. He’s on the ground a lot. He’s a good blocker for what they ask to do, but he’s leaving his feet trying to lunge. It almost feels like as the game went on and blocking really struggled, guys are trying to do things out of the ordinary just to get their bodies on players and that works against you. I have been a little bit disappointing with Mundt’s blocking.”

Caplan: “There’s a reason why the Jaguars cut him. They didn’t think he could help them anymore. He’s a West Coast offensive specialist.”

Kenny Moore

Caplan: “He gives them depth. He’s a guy that has been in the league for a long time, super nice guy. Was a phenomenal player.”

Mosher: “There were other teams that obviously wanted him, they gave him a decent amount of money for a guy you’re going to sign to the practice squad. They clearly have a plan. But Vic (Fangio) ruled out moving (Cooper) DeJean as a full-time safety.”

Marcus Epps

Mosher: “I take Vic at his word. He defended Epps and said he had bad plays that he would like to have back, but he likes Epps.”
