‘Out of Answers’
ITB Postgame: Season Slowly Slipping Away
The same problems persisted for the Philadelphia Eagles in the 25-14 defeat at the hands of the Carolina Panthers.
On the Week 6 edition of “Inside The Birds Postgame,” Geoff Mosher and Adam Caplan discussed what went wrong and the team’s direction after four straight losses.

Tanner McKee
Geoff Mosher: “I thought this was the game where going under center was not a great idea because you want quick game, McKee to see the defense, and throw immediately…the first play of the game, they go under center and he takes an 11-yard sack. I can guarantee you their EPA for under center had to be atrocious.”
Adam Caplan: “McKee has a long release. It takes him a long time to get the football out. Yes, there was some real bad pass pro in this game, some confusion…I thought he was very uneven, I’m putting it kindly.”
Jordan Mailata
Mosher: “I talked to Jordan about what he remembers from 2020 when he was a young player and he had leaders. He said body language is important, setting the tone is important. But you can also tell from a lot of his answers that he was basically saying it stinks now, but it’s a great opportunity for guys like Markel Bell, (Willie) Lampkin, (Jake) Majors. And I said how do you reconcile the advantages of getting better over winning games, and he said that is the challenge. That’s when you know guys understand that they are out of answers. The answers are health and we just don’t know when they’ll ever be right from a health standpoint.”
Offensive Line
Mosher: “The biggest issue facing the Eagles, even when they get healthier, is every defensive coordinator is going to go Brian Flores against them because of their offensive line, specifically the interior.”
Caplan: “The Eagles had no answer [against the Panthers]. Chris Kuper has to show me something. I know he’s up against it with three backups, but you have to be better here. You would have thought the Panthers had 15 sacks this game. They had 11 quarterback hits.”
Jonathan Greenard
Caplan: “Greenard reinjured his ankle, clearly. He was hobbled.”
Mosher: “I don’t understand the Greenard situation. He did not carry a game designation, he was full practice, so the only thing that I thought would limit would be conditioning, but he played so few snaps that it couldn’t just have been a conditioning issue.”
