Safety Precautions?

Safeties Miss Another Practice; New WR Added to Injury Report

Thursday’s injury report for the Philadelphia Eagles ahead of their Week 4 matchup saw the same safeties not participating in practice and a new receiver on the injured list.

Safeties Sydney Brown (Hamstring) and Justin Evans (Neck) missed practice for the second day in a row, while star wide receiver DeVonta Smith missed practice due to illness.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith missed Thursday’s practice ahead of Week 4 due to an illness

While Quez Watkins (Hamstring) returned to practice in limited fashion after missing Week 3 as well as Wednesday, it would not be an ideal tradeoff to not have one of the top wide receivers in the game.

The illness bug has gone around the Eagles, with several players limited and missing practice over it in the past couple of weeks.

Of course, the main concern lies in the safety room. With Brown and Evans down, that leaves only Reed Blankenship and Terrell Edmunds on the active roster with Tristin McCollum waiting on the practice squad.

Fletcher Cox (Knee) and Cam Jurgens (Groin) were listed as limited, while Britain Covey (Hamstring), Zach Cunningham (Ribs), Landon Dickerson (Knee), and Boston Scott (Concussion) all practiced in full.
