‘Patience’

The instillation of the new Philadelphia Eagles will take the next step with the start of training camp.

On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher previewed the biggest storylines on offense entering camp.

Jalen Hurts

Adam Caplan: “If Hurts plays on time, he will be better than he was in 2022 where he was right up there with the MVP race…it’s a timing-based offense, pure West Coast.”

Nick Sirianni/Sean Mannion

Geoff Mosher: “We need to see patience from Nick Sirianni if it’s clunky at the start…you have to let Sean learn.”

Dontayvion Wicks

Mosher: “I thought it was really fascinating that Nick Sirianni compared Dontayvion Wicks to Keenan Allen. I think of Keenan Allen as a short, compactly-built wide receiver who was really gifted in the short area in and out of his breaks…I never envisioned the taller Wicks that way but it was really interesting that Sirianni, who coached Keenan Allen when he was with the Chargers, made that comparison.”

Caplan: “I have to trust his judgement. Allen is an inside receiver, Wicks can line up inside but he is more of an ‘X’, an outside receiver.”

Cam Jurgens

Caplan: “Cam Jurgens was so painful to watch in the run game last season, I felt bad for him, he just couldn’t be himself. But there was a reason for it. Now we’re going to have to see how close he is to what he was before he had these latest injury problems.”

Chris Kuper

Mosher: “How is he coaching? How is he handling having to coach in place of a legend who, for many of the offensive linemen, that’s the only voice they have ever heard since they joined the Eagles?”
