Cause for Concern?

ITB: Biggest Concerns on Offense

by

While there are plenty of reasons for optimism, questions still must be answered about the Philadelphia Eagles offense.

On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher dove into the biggest concerns about the 2026 offense.

Offensive Line

Adam Caplan: “There’s no way to measure how healthy they’re going to be. Cam (Jurgens) and (Landon) Dickerson talked about the treatment they got overseas.”

Geoff Mosher: “The whole purpose of this offense is to function off of a strong running game and then incorporate your downhill, under center play action…It can’t all happen unless the offensive line is healthy.”

Run Scheme

Mosher: “It’s going to be different, they talked about more wide zone. Saquon Barkley’s running style is much more of a freelance style, a shutter and stutter style where he’s finding the hole by putting both feet in the ground.”

Caplan: “Footwork, technique, second-level blocks, everything is going to look different.”

Parks Frazier

Caplan: “I have talked to coaches that have worked with him, done a lot of background on him. Very smart, well thought out guy. But being smart does not make you a great football coach. Can you reach your player, get him to do what you need to do? (Jalen) Hurts, as we have seen with a lot of veteran quarterbacks over the years, has a mind of his own.”

Marquise Brown

Mosher: “I look at the Eagles and think 12 personnel. You’re going to want DeVonta Smith out there, (Dontayvion) Wicks, you might have some opportunities to play Makai Lemon on the outside. I don’t know what they want from Marquise Brown and what he’s going to deliver to this team when there’s already three guys that I can see ahead of him.”

Caplan: “Marquise Brown has had one year of over 900 yards, that was back in 2021. He has missed significant time with injury. The Chiefs were hurting at wide receiver last season big-time. He had under 600 yards.”

Dontayvion Wicks

Caplan: “He’s not fast, hands are inconsistent, he was given chance after chance with Green Bay. Why couldn’t he be better?”

Mosher: “We like to think that change of sceneries work for guys, but for the most part they don’t.”

Dallas Goedert

Mosher: “30-years-old, new offense, new scheme. I am more prone to think that, watching his blocking fall off, that he’s starting to really enter the downside.”
