ITB: Will Potential Snow Impact Eagles v. Rams?

by

The Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Rams will face off for the second time this season, this is time in the January Philly weather.

On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher discussed the latest news and notes for the Eagles and Rams ahead of the divisional round.

Weather

Adam Caplan: “As of Friday morning, it’s supposed to snow throughout the game, up to a half an inch, which is not a lot.”

Geoff Mosher: “We asked people who have played the game or coached the game. Most of the people have said, if it’s snowing but not windy, that favors the offense. If it’s windy and gusty, and it has been very gusty here lately, that does not favor the offense because the quarterbacks have to fight the winds, it doesn’t favor the kicking game.”

Jalen Hurts

Caplan: “He got off to a hot start, then it got away from him a little bit. That doesn’t mean that you can’t keep trying to get him warmed up a little bit and keep throwing the football. I just don’t agree with limiting his throws, but this is what they’re doing.”

Dallas Goedert

Mosher: “He wasn’t at practice on Thursday, it was an illness, which can be bad, but it’s certainly not worse than a pop up knee injury or hamstring.”

Jeremiah Trotter Jr.

Mosher: “I’m really interested to see, if the Eagles win this game against the Rams, does the [linebacker] platoon continue or does Vic (Fangio) see enough in JTJ to say that might be my guy in the NFC Championship game? I don’t think Vic wants to platoon, he’s doing it because both of those guys are really important to special teams and he doesn’t want to overwork them.”

Tyler Higbee

Caplan: “Tyler Higbee, who was killing the Vikings in the first quarter, he got sent to the hospital. It wound up being a chest contusion, he had internal bleeding. The cool thing is that he’s fine, they are very optimistic that he’ll play.”

Alarcic Jackson

Caplan: “He is their left tackle. They seem to be optimistic; he took all of their reps Thursday. Barring something happening, he’s good to go.”

Ahkello Witherspoon

Caplan: “He did not practice. This is the one they’re most concerned about. If Witherspoon can’t play, it’s going to be Cobie Durant, who used to start. He has a hamstring injury; as I understand it, they’re pessimistic but they’re going to see if the treatment works. It’s all hands on deck when you have A.J. Brown on the other side.”
