ITB: New Contracts Signed on Eagles Defense
The Philadelphia Eagles’ bargain shopping spree continued on defense, with the exception of a notable in-house extension.
On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher provided intel on the newest contracts signed by the defensive side of the ball.
Josh Uche
Adam Caplan: “Somehow, they finagled it under $2 million. $1.29 million is the total cash. They are fully guaranteeing well over half of it…That’s not going to keep him on the roster, he has to perform. He has to show that the last couple of years is not who he is and he is way better than this.”
Azeez Ojulari
Caplan: “When he plays, he is very productive. His total cash is $4.285 million, all of it is fully guaranteed at signing. It’s not a ton of money. He would have to be so bad to be cut. I hate to say lock, but it’s pretty close…It’s a nice number for a situational pass rusher”
Zack Baun
Caplan: “He got a three-year with a two-year structure. He got a three-year deal worth $51 million, the first two years are fully guaranteed. He has the typical Eagles structure.”
Geoff Mosher: “He’ll have an opportunity, if he plays well, to get another contract. There are teams that aren’t afraid to give money to linebackers closer to 30.”
Adoree Jackson
Caplan: “This year is $1.75 million, $1.5 million in cash salary. The rest of it is tied up in per-game roster bonuses which is $14,706 per game.”
