ITB Postgame Live: Strong Performances on Both Sides of Ball
Using two backup quarterbacks, the 13-3 Philadelphia Eagles delivered a beatdown of their NFC East foe Dallas Cowboys to clinch the division title.
On the Week 17 edition of “Inside The Birds Postgame Live,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher highlighted standouts from the 41-7 victory.
C.J. Gardner-Johnson
Adam Caplan: “Gardner-Johnson had two picks. The first one was really impressive because he read Cooper Rush’s eyes. He’s coming on here, he tracks the ball extremely well.”
Saquon Barkley
Geoff Mosher: “Them pulling Saquon with 10 minutes left in this game instead of trying to get more yards and get him closer [to the record] probably reveals that they’re not going to play him next week because if you were going to jeopardize his health in a game that might not mean anything, why wouldn’t you just keep going for it in this game?”
Tanner McKee/Kenny Pickett
Mosher: “I like what we saw from Tanner McKee coming in, that’s not an easy situation. His first pass was a little bit behind [DeVonta] Smith, and then he got a little warm and got the touchdown. I think the same thing for Kenny Pickett, I thought his ball placement early on was not very good and he seemed a little bit scattershot in the pocket…They saw a matchup that they felt they needed to exploit in the passing game to open up the running game and that was going up against Andrew Booth.”
Caplan: “It’s not easy to come off the bench, give Tanner McKee credit…Pickett made some good throws in the game, his first pass was terrible.”
