ITB: Eagles on the Way Back to Full Strength?

The Philadelphia Eagles are looking to build on the momentum of their three-game winning streak and get healthy.

On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Geoff Mosher and Adam Caplan discussed the latest circumstances surrounding the team.

Dallas Goedert

Geoff Mosher: “The Eagles never put him on injured reserve, so you have to think they were figuring he would be back before four games, so I would think there’s a chance that this week we will see if he can at least get out there in limited and do something to try to get himself ready.”

Adam Caplan: “It’s a hamstring injury, he’s an older player now. He has to get out there and show he can do something.”

Caplan: “Jalen is really trusting Grant Calcaterra. This is their third year together. He is a big-time run after the catch tight end.”

Mekhi Becton

Mosher: “Once Mekhi Becton’s healthy, he’ll be back there at right guard. We have seen that it’s not easy to come back in one game with a concussion. He has to get on the field, but that doesn’t mean he has cleared concussion protocol.”

Caplan: “If you have a slight headache, you go back to step one. It means you are not playing that week.”

Darius Slay

Caplan: “I would be surprised if he played this week. It would be a nice story, oldest starting outside corner in the National Football League. He had testing on Monday. If he can’t play and doesn’t get cleared, it’s Isaiah Rodgers.”

Jalen Hurts

Mosher: “The first throw that he hit Calcaterra, that was a middle of the field throw where he got the protection, and he got it over two linebackers. It was a beautiful throw. There weren’t a ton of throws over the middle in windows, but that’s okay…to me that’s part of the growth you are looking for.”

Caplan: “The thing he had an issue with a lot of last season was moving unnecessarily…I don’t believe he did that all [this game]. That’s the key to his growth as a passer.”

Zack Baun

Mosher: “They continue to use him as a fifth rusher at times where instead of showing a blitz, you bring him to the line of scrimmage at the last second and have him stunt or twist on the inside.”
