QB Depth
ITB: Room for McKee, Dalton, and Payton?
The Philadelphia Eagles enter OTAs with a crowded quarterback room.
On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher dove into the QB depth chart.

Adam Caplan: “How are you going to get him reps? Fourth-string quarterbacks don’t get reps. I understand he brings a very unique skillset, is a big-time athlete. One team told me that because of his size and he can move, but he doesn’t throw the ball very well, that maybe he should be a fullback.”

Geoff Mosher: “This offense is the most drastic change the Eagles will have made…He has a chance to really adapt to this offense and really add to his legacy as a quarterback. If he does want to pull the trigger more, it’ll be great for his career.”
Caplan: “Most people that we spoke with don’t think it’s going to work because he hasn’t shown the ability to throw consistency over the middle, but he has done it.”
Andy Dalton
Mosher: “From a practice reps standpoint…usually your third string guy is a developmental guy and runs the scout team. But you have a guy in Andy Dalton who has never been a number three. He is 15 years into his career, has been to three Pro Bowls, played in four playoff games, and he is going to be a guy running the scout team? That makes very little sense to me.”
Caplan: “They have insurance if they wind up trading (Tanner) McKee at the deadline.”
Tanner McKee
Mosher: “If there is a scenario where Jalen Hurts gets hurt long-term or really struggles, the Eagles still have control over McKee for one year. They may think he’s the better option. We’re just going through every single scenario possible.”
