ITB Postgame Live: What Are Biggest Storylines for Eagles Heading into Playoffs?

After finishing the 2024 regular season with a 14-3 record, the Philadelphia Eagles are now looking ahead to a competitive NFC playoff field.

On the Week 18 edition of “Inside The Birds Postgame Live,” Geoff Mosher and Adam Caplan wrapped up the regular season and talked about the biggest developments heading into the Wild Card round.

Dallas Goedert

Jalen Hurts

Geoff Mosher: “The broadcast team gets to watch certain parts of practice, they were at the walkthrough on Saturday and they noticed Jalen Hurts was with the team outside. We know that’s part of the protocol where you do have to get in that light sensitivity, so it appears that Jalen Hurts has moved into the next stage of concussion protocol.”

Adam Caplan: “Our understanding is he should be at the third stage by now. That’s very important that he was actually out there on the field on a walkthrough on a Saturday. All that matters is that is he practicing the first day that they return to practice?”

Dallas Goedert

Mosher: “It seemed like an unnecessary risk for one of your most important players and the fact that you don’t have a lot of depth there to begin with, but from the coaches standpoint, this is a guy who not only has missed the last four games but missed a bunch of games earlier in the season too. Maybe they just felt that in order for him to be fully conditioned and to get out there and be Dallas Goedert, he needed to get at least a quarter in.”

Caplan: “That was the only thing that surprised me…he took a number of shots.”

Jake Elliott

Caplan: “There has been a number of problems of him hooking or pushing the ball. It’s not going away. He’s there guy, no question about it, it’s not a strength issue it’s just an accuracy issue.”

Mosher: “The wind might be a factor but this is a guy who did make other field goals on that side of the field and has always been good in bad weather. It looked like the one he missed was hooked right from the start. I’m worried now.”
