Hunters To Hunted

Birds Have NFL's Toughest '23 Sked

The Eagles benefitted from one of the NFL’s easiest schedules last year en route to winning the NFC East, claiming the No. 1 seed in the NFC and appearing in the Super Bowl.

This year, the marathon season might have come with more obstacles, as the Eagles are set to have the league’s toughest strength of schedule in 2023.

NFL Network’s Andrew Siciliano, citing data presented by @NFLResearch on Twitter, posted that the Eagles opponents in 2023 had a combined winning percentage in 2022 of .566 – the highest for any NFL team’s opponents this season.

The schedule won’t be released until Thursday, but the Eagles will play 10 of their 17 games against teams that made the postseason last year, including two apiece against the Giants and Cowboys, along with showdowns against the Chiefs, Dolphins, Vikings, 49ers, Seahawks and Bills.

The Eagles entered 2022 having the league’s third-easiest schedule based on 2021 standings but also went 5-1 against teams that made the 2022 postseason, their only loss coming against the Cowboys in a game that Jalen Hurts missed from an injury.

Along with those 10 games this year against playoff teams, the Eagles will also this year face a new-look Jets team with four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers at quarterback.
