Smith Inks Rookie Pact

Kelee Ringo Lone Unsigned '23 Pick

by

The Eagles on Tuesday announced that first-round pick Nolan Smith signed his rookie contract, leaving just one member of their draft class unsigned.

Smith, a 6-foot-3, 240-pound edge defender, was the second of two Eagles first-round picks, at 30th overall. He and defensive tackle Jalen Carter, drafted by the Eagles at ninth overall, both played at Georgia.

Another Eagles draft pick from Georgia, fourth-round corner Kelee Ringo, is the only player drafted by the Eagles last month who hasn’t yet signed his rookie deal.

Smith joined Carter, third-rounders Tyler Steen (offensive lineman) and Sydney Brown (safety), sixth-round quarterback Tanner McKee and seventh-round defensive tackle Moro Ojomo as 2023 draft picks who’ve already inked their deals.

Smith is viewed as a Haason Reddick-like prospect who tested tremendously at the NFL Scouting Combine and offers edge burst despite his undersized frame.
