Birds 3rd Rounders Sign Contracts; Two Draft Picks Remain

by

Two more members of the Philadelphia Eagles’ 2023 draft class officially signed their rookie deals.

Offensive lineman Tyler Steen and safety Sydney Brown, both third-round picks, inked standard four-year deals, the team announced.

Steen, chosen 65th overall, will compete with Cam Jurgens and Jack Driscoll for the right guard position left open by Isaac Seumalo’s free-agent departure to the Steelers.

Steen played offensive tackle his entire college tenure, starting at Vanderbilt and ending at Alabama. But his shorter arm length – coupled with the Eagles having two tackles already – projects him better at guard.

Brown, an Illinois product, is the team’s highest-drafted safety in more than a decade and will look to compete for a starting job among a wide-open field after the Eagles lost both of their 2022 starters – and plenty of others on defense – to free agency.

Steen and Brown joined first-round defensive tackle Jalen Carter (ninth overall), sixth-rounder Tanner McKee (188th), and seventh-round defensive tackle Moro Ojomo (249th) as 2023 rookies to sign their deals.

Still unsigned are first-round edge defender Nolan Smith (30th) and fourth-round corner Kelee Ringo (105th), both products of national champion Georgia.
