All-Time Greatness
ITB: Saquon, BG Stand Out
The Philadelphia Eagles’ seventh straight victory was bittersweet, highlighted by one of the greatest single-game performances in recent NFL history on offense and an all-time team great suffering a season-ending injury on defense after a game-wrecking performance.
On the Week 12 edition of “Inside The Birds Postgame Live,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher highlighted the biggest standouts from Sunday night’s 37-20 win over the Los Angeles Rams.
Saquon Barkley
Adam Caplan: “He made more guys miss tonight than he did with the Giants last season. He was ridiculous tonight, 302 total yards. This guy is a special football player, but the line gives him that chance. Yes, Saquon’s numbers are great before contact, but it’s because of the offensive line…His jump cuts are just absurd.”
Geoff Mosher: “He did a good job of getting skinny through the hole on both of the 70-yard touchdown runs, he followed his blocks really well.”
Brandon Graham
Caplan: “He took over. He’s 36-years-old. Have you ever seen a guy at his age do what he is doing?…He had three quarterback hits tonight, all three were impactful.”
Mosher: “It is very rare to see a defensive lineman play that well this age. He was their best pass rusher this night. He makes smart plays, just knows where to be…A lot of the plays that Graham makes isn’t just because he’s good, but because he’s smart. He has seen everything. He out-leverages guys on the edge, is just always in the right spot.”
Milton Williams
Caplan: “I have to give him a shoutout. He was fantastic.”
A.J. Brown
Caplan: “His ability to have defenders fall off of him is absurd. I don’t know why they try to tackle him high, tackle his legs. He really is an amazing football player.”
