ITB: Keep Eye On Goedert On Birds Injury Report

by

The opening week of the 2023 NFL season has arrived, and the Philadelphia Eagles are looking to defend their NFC title.

On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher provided updates on the team’s latest transactions and injuries entering Week 1.

Julian Good-Jones

Adam Caplan: “They don’t have a backup center right now…right now, they could elevate Good-Jones who is a guard by trade but can also play some center.”

Geoff Mosher: “I saw him get second-team center reps when (Jason) Kelce was getting first-team reps.”

Punter

Mosher: “Wednesday will be an interesting day. If you were going to add a punter, you don’t need him for labor day weekend. Monday, you don’t need him for because it is a light day, Tuesday you have off. It would not surprise me if by four o’clock Tuesday or early Wednesday, there was a punter that was signed not named Arryn Siposs. That would enable them to release Siposs from the practice squad.”

Tyrie Cleveland

Caplan: “From what we understand, there is some potential interest later in the season to bring him back, just like when Greg Ward was on injured reserve and they reached an injury settlement some years ago. They have to see how he is doing first, but it is not out of the question they bring him back.”

Dallas Goedert

Caplan: “That would not be good if he is not working Wednesday. Now, did that have anything to do with the Albert O trade? I have not heard that…we will keep an eye on that one with Goedert, we know about his injury history.”

Haason Reddick

Caplan: “Reddick will play coming off thumb surgery. He just has to figure out a way to manipulate that surgically repaired thumb with that wrap that he has on it. It is never easy though, talking to defensive players who have to do it. It is just a different way.”
