ITB Postgame: Eagles Looking Ahead to Playoffs Despite Loss
The Philadelphia Eagles can put the regular season behind them as the No. 3 seed in the NFC following a 24-17 loss to the Washington Commanders.
On the Week 18 edition of “Inside The Birds Postgame,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher recapped the final regular season game and gave an early preview of the Wild Card matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.

Adam Caplan: “McKee has this habit. He kept rolling out to his right…He showed good pocket mobility, avoided a bunch of his pressures, but it’s also in his mind to keep rolling right instead of getting rid of the football which is kind of bothersome to me…Overall, there were some throws where he sometimes tries to find touch on it instead of just driving, which we know he can do.”
Geoff Mosher: “Mixed bag. When McKee threw the ball over the middle, he showed really good zip. I think there were a couple of out routes that he threw that I just think he was trying to be too cute.”
Secondary
Caplan: “I understand they should never be playing anyway, but (Kelee) Ringo and Jakorian Bennett. Bennett’s hold, did he have to keep holding on to (Treylon) Burks’ arm?”
Mosher: “If a guy like Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, even Adoree Jackson gets hurt, and you have Ringo or Bennett having to go in, you’re just not in the same position.”
Jalyx Hunt
Caplan: “Three interceptions this season, that’s unbelievable for an edge rusher. He also had a fumble recovery in the game. He has had quite the season, he is a year ahead of schedule. His ability as a force player against the run is phenomenal.”
Mosher: “I don’t know if he’s an overall better player yet than Jaelan Phillips, but he’s not far. By this time next year, he can probably do more things. He’s clearly the better athlete. He’s starting to play with great instincts, understanding where he need to be. He finished as the leader on the defense in interceptions.”
San Francisco 49ers
Caplan: “I like it from the Eagles’ standpoint. They have struggled at corner, you saw what Caleb Williams did against them…The coaching has been great, but they have a lot of injuries on defense.”
Mosher: “They have done an excellent job all year, coaching wise. They have lost (Nick) Bosa, (Fred) Warner, Bryce Huff for a while.”
