ITB: What's Next for Eagles After Loss?

by

The 12-3 Philadelphia Eagles must quickly turn the page following their first loss since the month of September.

On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher discussed the latest developments surrounding the team.

Kellen Moore

Adam Caplan: “In the second half, I really thought that Kellen Moore could have helped them better. (Saquon) Barkley had 107 yards in the first quarter and 40-something after that…not having (Jalen) Hurts in the lineup changes the way you defend it, but Moore has to spread things out.”

Geoff Mosher: “We don’t know the extent of how limited they felt they might have been because of the injury. When you’re in the middle of a game and you’re running plays you haven’t practiced with Pickett before, then you’re restricted.”

Jalen Hurts

Caplan: “He is in the protocol. Here’s the key here: it’s a five-step process. The one that’s not talked about enough is if you see a guy out at practice, that’s a good sign because he can see daylight. But the key in this five-step process is by Friday to be at least at phase four: non-contact training drills. That means he’s one step away from five, which is full football activity and all he would need is final clearance from a neurologist.”

Mosher: “I just hope he’s okay because concussions are no joke. The referee looked at him and told Jalen to go to the sideline.”

Britain Covey

Mosher: “They have been really careful with him because he has been practicing not playing. That’s a neck injury so I totally get it. The fact that they have Cooper DeJean and Ainias Smith gives them the insurance so they don’t have to rush him.”

Caplan: “You have to get cleared for contact. If he gets cleared for contact, he’s playing…it is very rare for a player to practice fully and not get cleared.”

Josh Sweat

Mosher: “This is rare. When you miss 37 snaps of a game, usually you’re not going to play [again].”

Caplan: “He got hurt very early and came back.”
