Five Prime Time Games, Early Bye for Eagles


The 2024 NFL schedule was fully released on Wednesday night.

In addition to the previously announced special Friday night Week 1 matchup against the Green Bay Packers in Brazil, the Philadelphia Eagles are set to play in four other primetime games.

GETTY IMAGES: The Philadelphia Eagles will host the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday Night Football in Week 9.

For the third consecutive season, the Eagles will host Kirk Cousins in primetime for a Week 2 matchup, this time hosting the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football.

Following two consecutive road games against NFC South opponents, (Week 3 against the Saints and Week 4 versus the Buccaneers), the Birds will have a week of rest. Their Week 5 bye is the earliest the team has had since the 2016 season.

Philadelphia will return in Week 6 to host the Cleveland Browns and will play their first NFC East matchup of the season during the following week in a road matchup against the New York Giants, All-Pro running back Saquon Barkley’s first appearance at MetLife Stadium since signing with the division rival Eagles.

In Week 9, former Eagles Head Coach Doug Pederson will make his second visit to Philadelphia since taking over as the Jacksonville Jaguars head coach in 2022, this time in a Sunday Night Football matchup.

Over the next four weeks, the team will have their work cut out for them with a trip to Dallas in Week 10 followed by a Thursday night home matchup against the Washington Commanders. They will be in primetime for a second straight week with a trip to Los Angeles to take on the Rams on Sunday Night Football. In Week 13, they will hit the road once again, facing a Baltimore Ravens team that finished 2023 with the best record in the AFC.

The regular season will conclude with three consecutive divisional matchups: Week 16 in Washington followed by hosting the Cowboys in Week 17 and Giants in Week 18.
