‘Phenomenal to See’

Q&A: Eagles Shined Bright in Playoff Win

The Philadelphia Eagles’ biggest stars became apparent in the team’s 28-22 victory over the Los Angeles Rams that advanced them to the NFC Championship.

On the latest episode of “Q&A” on “Inside The Birds,” former Eagles standouts Jason Avant and Quintin Mikell identified standouts from the divisional round win and previewed the upcoming conference title game against their NFC East foe Washington Commanders.

Quintin Mikell: “To think that in the second half with all the snow coming down and he’s still outrunning everybody, out-cutting everybody, it was phenomenal to see that. It just shows what a true talent he is. The o-line is phenomenal, don’t get me wrong, but it isn’t just how good this o-line is; he’s taking these things the distance. He has great vision, cutback angles.”

Jason Avant: “I think he’s playing absolutely insane. I think he’s the most solid, most consistent player on this team.”

Jalen Hurts

Avant: “The person that deserves a lot of credit is Jalen. Jalen in the last few weeks checked into multiple plays that ended up in touchdowns: the Dallas Goedert touchdown last week against the Packers, Saquon Barkley’s first touchdown run was a check.”

Mikell: “Overall, I think he played very solid…Jalen getting this offense into good plays is what I think is his addition to these games and these wins and how this team is successful.”

Jalen Carter

Mikell: “That dude is something else. His technique, his speed, his wiggle, his strength, the one thing I really like is his recognition of the game. He’s playing like a vet.”

Avant: “The dude is relentless. He’s getting double teamed 90% of the time and when a person is double teamed, you get tired after a while. He goes hard to beat the double teams every single time…they are trying to mentally beat him up because they are blocking him with wham blocks and two people.”

Jayden Daniels

Avant: “Vic Fangio said something pretty accurate: he’s a young dude on his birth certificate, but he’s an old man on tape. It’s like he has been here before. He’s super calm, can make every throw, rarely makes a bad decision in order to run a keeper. He’s way beyond his years when it comes to quarterbacking. He reads concepts amazingly.”
