ITB: Experimentation at OTAs
The Philadelphia Eagles are using the OTAs as a period of experimentation.
On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher discussed how the team practices are offering a hint into 2026.

GETTY IMAGES: Philadelphia Eagles do-it-all defensive back Cooper DeJean will likely play a sizable amount of safety in 2026.
Cooper DeJean
Adam Caplan: “At safety, it depends on the opponent. If it’s a heavy 12 personnel team, he’s going to play safety almost the entire game. If it’s an 11 personnel team, he’s not going to play safety. It’s not as big of a need as it was before.”
Kelee Ringo
Caplan: “Ringo is getting the (Chris) Maragos treatment. He won’t play on defense at all unless there’s an emergency. He was given chance after chance, he’s exactly who we projected three years ago when we said he’s too stiff.”
Zack Baun
Geoff Mosher: “Zack Baun was definitely suggestive when he said that Vic (Fangio) had some plans to take some things to the next level this year…I’m interested to see what it means.
Myles Hinton
Mosher: “Myles Hinton playing left guard, it’s definitely experimentation. I understand it, they have seven tackles so you have to do a little bit of moving around.”
Caplan: “There’s an opening at guard. Myles Hinton is not a lock to make the team. In a scouting report we got from more than one club, the big issue for him was he was passive as a tackle. Hinton is just not the most aggressive guy, if you’re playing inside you have to be aggressive and that to me is a concern. If it looks good enough, this could be real.”
Dontayvion Wicks
Mosher: “I really feel like there’s an opportunity for Dontayvion Wicks now as the guy who has the body of a true ‘X’. I know he can play inside, I know he can play anywhere, but the opportunity will be there for him to establish himself there.”
