Just one week into the 2026 season, the Philadelphia Eagles’ offensive line has some shuffling to do.

On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher discussed the impact of the Landon Dickerson injury.

Adam Caplan: “There’s a saying in football for the elite players like Dickerson that even if they’re at 77%, they’re probably better than 100% of the other guy, but it was painful. Landon’s an older 28, you worry about this stuff. The games that he’ll miss are this one, at Chicago on Monday night, versus the Rams, and Jacksonville. Then after that, they’ll see if the swelling goes down and if the blood flow is good.”

Geoff Mosher: “It was the last practice before the final preseason game against the Bengals. It was a very light practice. At the end of it when they were doing team drills. The only person on the first team in any spot other than wide receiver that they were rotating was Dickerson, who was trading places with (Drew) Kendall. It was noticeable to me.”

Caplan: “Kendall has been his backup the entire way…We have talked about this since he was drafted, we could not find a team who thought he could play guard. I asked a dozen people in personnel with other teams. I know he has put on 15 pounds of muscle, that doesn’t guarantee you that you can play guard. If he’s not going to play guard, it means they don’t think he’s ready. This is not a one-week decision.”

Mosher: “I think it’s very fair to wonder if they had a backup offensive lineman who had a couple years in the league or was a really high pick, would they have gone to him in Week 1? I know they like Kendall, but we’re talking about guard, not center, and no NFL reps.”

Cam Jurgens

Mosher: “With a guy like Jeffery Simmons up and Derrick Brown and Aaron Donald, there are some really good DTs here. Would I rather have Kendall making his first appearance at left guard, a position he has cross-trained at but not necessarily experienced, or would I rather have him more naturally at a center spot and then Jurgens playing guard where at least he has played before?”

Willie Lampkin

Mosher: “You saw a nice camp from him, but the reality of the situation is you’re going into Week 2 one toe stub or ankle twist away from your interior line having Kendall and Willie Lampkin as your starters.”
