ITB: Impact of Halaby, Johnston Departures
Following the conclusion of the 2026 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles are facing a wave of exits from Howie Roseman’s staff.
On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Geoff Mosher and Adam Caplan provided intel on front office departures and potential replacements.

Alec Halaby
Geoff Mosher: “Just from talking to people around the league who anticipated this, it sounds like he had a couple of interviews to be a GM that didn’t work out. You can maybe make the conclusion that he just felt like it was never going to happen and he wanted to go off and try something else.”
Adam Caplan: “We heard that this was probably going to happen….He’s going to go into finance. Exactly what, from what I understand, is not totally set.”
Bryce Johnston
Caplan: “He came up with the option bonus inclusion in contracts…They are a big cash over cap team and they found a loophole to do it with option bonuses.”
Adam Berry
Mosher: “The natural replacement for Halaby would be Adam Berry. He’s currently the Vice President of Football Operations and Strategy. He’s the younger brother of Andrew Berry who was with the Eagles and is now the Browns GM.”
Joe Douglas
Mosher: “Howie has always done a good job of having a really well-respected veteran personnel mind to help him out in case of losses. Joe is doing some interesting stuff. He was working last year as a liaison between coaches and the personnel. You would see him on the sidelines sometimes with the headphones on. He is a natural person to help out.”
