ITB: What New QB, TE, Defensive Players Bring to Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles went bargain shopping this offseason, bringing in solid players who have yet to live up their potential.
On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher provided intel on the team’s new additions.

Adam Caplan: “He gets to start anew here, let’s see what happens. He is on the third year of his four-year rookie deal. He goes into a new system and gets a new lease on life.”
AJ Dillon
Geoff Mosher: “Dillon, when healthy, is a pretty good runner and a big guy and he can catch the ball decently. It gives the Eagles the opportunity to continue to be a run-first team if they want to be and if they want to take a little bit of workload off of Saquon (Barkley), you can give a little bit to AJ.”
Caplan: “They have to see where he’s at, he didn’t play last regular season. Once they feel like he’s back to normal, he’ll be the number two back…If they’re up in the fourth quarter, they don’t have to expose Barkley. Pull him out of the game and let Dillon grind carries.”
Harrison Bryant
Mosher: “If you look at his career stats in the NFL, it doesn’t look like he’s much of a pass catcher or a threat. But if you go back to how he was used in college, where he went over 1,000 yards in college and won the Mackey Award in his last year at FAU, and then try to project him in a better offensive environment, then maybe you can get a better version of him here in Philadelphia.”
Adoree Jackson
Caplan: “He turns 30 this season. He’s in the mix. There’s very little guaranteed money in his contract. The Eagles have always liked him. They needed a veteran badly, they’re very light on corner.”
Josh Uche
Mosher: “There’s something in Josh Uche. He was a second-round pick, did have a really good third season with the Patriots as a designated pass rusher, maybe he just needs to get back to that role in a similar scheme. But he’s coming off a year in which the Chiefs traded for him and just decided not to use him. He’s a reclamation project at this point.”
