GETTY: Eagles bring back WR Deon Cain
The 26-year-old is no stranger to the Eagles’ system, spending time on the team’s practice squad in both 2021 and 2022.
Cain made his release in 2022 a difficult decision after a strong preseason and will look to repeat his success from the previous year’s camp.
Though he has played 14 regular season NFL games in his career, the 6’2, 208 pound wide receiver has made the most noise on a professional football field in the USFL, where in the 2023 championship game he caught three touchdowns, including a 40-yarder.
Cain is a wideout who is familiar with Nick Sirianni in particular. In addition to his time with the Eagles, he spent his first two seasons with the Indianapolis Colts after being drafted in the sixth round of the 2018.
The chances of making the final 53-man roster seem low, as Cain will compete with names such as Devon Allen, Greg Ward, Charleston Rambo, and Joe Ngata for the final wide receiver spot.
