‘Numbers Game Somewhere’
ITB: Roster Bubble on Defense
The Philadelphia Eagles will have one of the most stacked defenses entering 2026, but there is still room to earn a spot on the roster.
On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher discussed defensive players on the bubble entering training camp.

Ty Robinson
Adam Caplan: “Ty Robinson did not have a great training camp last year…that showed in the regular season…If he has [another] bad training camp, I’m not putting him on my 53.”
Geoff Mosher: “The Eagles are going to be going heavy at other positions, so there’s going to be a numbers game somewhere.”
Keyshawn James-Newby
Caplan: “He would have to have an unbelievable training camp just to get on the radar to make the roster. Then it becomes a numbers game.”
Mosher: “The only thing helping Newby if he performs well in camp and has this great speed is in the past when the Eagles had less of a numbers crunch, they were able to keep that extra edge rusher to be a special teamer.”
Chance Campbell
Mosher: “If you talk to players, they love him. They think he’s the scout team god, and whenever you have that kind of reputation there’s always a chance. But he’s on the bubble.”
Caplan: “From what he have heard, he has done very well behind the scenes. But he’s a player I’m sure they know they can get through waivers.”
Cole Wisniewski
Caplan: “Cole Wisniewski has to prove it. Right now, you hope he’s the fourth safety.”
Mac McWilliams
Mosher: “He has to prove it on the field because now there’s hybrid guys all over the roster here.”
Caplan: “I wonder if they’ll cross train at safety because they have too many problems there.”
Jakorian Bennett
Caplan: “There’s a lot of good with him, he’s really fast…the upside is there, but he has to prove it.”
