New Kirk?

ITB: What Does Falcons Offense Look Like?

by

The Philadelphia Eagles will take on a revamped Atlanta Falcons team looking to settle in with their new quarterback and coaches.

On the latest episode of “Inside The Birds,” Adam Caplan and Geoff Mosher talked the team’s injuries and dove into the Falcons’ new schemes ahead of the Monday matchup.

Isaiah Rodgers

Geoff Mosher: “It looks good for him to play. It’ll be really interesting to see how the coaches use him, if the coach uses him, how effective he can be. His hand is still wrapped up.”

Adam Caplan: “You and I heard recently it was a broken heart. I just remember talking to players, whatever position they play, you don’t want a super thick cast because in this case he has to tackle.”

Devin White

Caplan: “The only reason why you would have him active is it’s really Howie (Roseman)’s call because all GMs have the authority if they want to do it. They can’t tell coaches who to play, but in terms of who’s up and who’s down, every GM has power to do that. He can say he wants him up because he’s making $5 million this season.”

Mosher: “He made some throws that looked like he was more arm whipping it instead of stepping into it and some of that was under duress and some of it to me was also he was not yet comfortable in this offense. Every single snap was out of shotgun and it’s so weird to see that for Kirk Cousins.”

Falcons Offense

Caplan: “When you’re facing teams with new schemes, you want to face them before they get it right. Zac Robinson, from talking to people who have worked with him before, is a pretty sharp guy, I know it was bad last week, but they have a very talented offense.”

Falcons Defense

Mosher: “The big difference the Eagles will be seeing on Monday night as opposed to the Friday night opener is they’re going to see a lot more of those five-man fronts. There was a lot of 5-1, 5-2 base where they didn’t even have a nickel in. This will be Saquon Barkley’s first look as an Eagle at a five-man front that’s going to try to limit his ability to find gaps.”

Caplan: “It’s not going to be easy, they have a good defense. It will be well coached, but they have some issues at corner outside of (A.J.) Terrell.”
