A jury cleared Sills, who made the team last year as an undrafted rookie from Oklahoma State whose career started at West Virginia, of both first-degree felony charges.
The NFL placed Sills on the Commissioner’s Exempt list in February, after Sills was indicted. He was paid while on the list but wasn’t able to participate in practices or the Super Bowl.
Although he was cleared, Sills’ case will still be reviewed by the NFL under the league’s personal conduct policy.
Many NFL players who have been cleared of charges have still been suspended by the league, including former Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott, former Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and, most recently, Saints running back Alvin Kamara.
Sills appeared in one game last year for the Eagles. It’s not known if the Eagles will move forward with Sills.
